This is a commission for the lovely :iconnoraboo: of her character, Zhanna.

Big thanks to Noraboo, it was a pleasure drawing your character.

Done in Photoshop CS2, ~12 hours.

cant fault the detail - but i feel its not rendered in enough of a dynamic way for the pose. But i guess thats just my opinion. The trail from the dress makes you think that shes walking backwards, but the feet definately dont compliment that movement.

*shrugs*

detailed though!

I really like the fabric and the lighting in this...the folds and the lights on her bum and around her waist are very nice. Also the shading on her face is great...the subtle shadow of the glasses....
She's very pretty and very well done. I love the colours you used as well...
I do think that there are a few steps that could be done to improve it though. One thing I noticed is that the highlights on her back are just a little too strong and thin. If they were just a teeny bit more blended to one side, then they'd look more realistic. It looks fine on her arm, but on her shoulder blade and along her spine I think they could be just a little more subtle.
Also the fabric of her outfit...It looks awesome everywhere else, but towards the very bottom of both pieces, it seems as though you lost energy on it and sort of gave up. Either that or you didn't have proper reference and tried doing it yourself, which for fabric can turn out quite badly sometimes. I dunno... I think that it looks too thick and solid, not thin and flowy like the rest of the material.
The shadows are great though...the light on her boots and on her face are awesome. I really like how you do shadow works. ^^ Great job.

"And what, sir, are we supposed to do if we DO step on a landmine?"
"Common procedure, lieutenant, is to fly 12 feet in the air and scatter one's self over a wide area."
